Pillora: IoT smart pill dispenser for medication adherence
Pillora is a connected pillbox that reminds patients to take each dose, records whether the lid was opened, and alerts a caregiver when a dose is missed.

The problem
Around half of patients with chronic diseases do not take medicines as prescribed (World Health Organization). In India the gap is wider because many elderly people live alone and caregivers are scarce. Timer pillboxes give no feedback, and imported smart dispensers are expensive and subscription-based.
What TechieYan built
An 8-compartment pillbox with an LED and buzzer per compartment, a 1.8-inch TFT display, Wi-Fi, and reed-switch lid detection. Caregivers can trigger alarms remotely; patients get a 10-minute snooze. Every dose event is logged to the cloud and shown on a caregiver dashboard.
